In this day of digital copy and paste it makes it difficult to know when an image is just a bunch of random elements slapped together or is there a great deal blood sweat and tears poured into a creation. Since this image has not information of the process, I will give you the benefit of the doubt and assume the latter. So on with the critique!

The detail of the right hand side of the image are almost overwhelming initially. There is just so much going on you do not know where to look first. My thought is, "Whoa, this is so busy!" I find it distracts from the characters on the bottom left so much that even if I did understand what they meant I would not be drawn to it.

The interesting thing is that I initially thought the image seemed muted in appearance. The yellow seems to be soaked up by the brown and the green. The more I look at it though the more I approve of it.

The cross text on the back layer is so subtle I don't even know if it needs to be there. It comes to me almost as an after thought. Maybe just a simple gradient in the back ground would make it less busy?

What does it all mean?
The details are just too overpowering for me. The design pattern should be trimmed down so it does not feel so over crowded. Something has to be done about the "busy feeling". However, I commend you as the artist for the amazing details and efforts you took in this design. I think there is definitely something here. It just needs to be made less cluttered.

Keep up the great work!

Just my 2 cents
